FINCA CRUZ ALTA - take a break!

History

The finca was taken over by friends in 1996 as a simple Canarian farmhouse and gradually extended over 14 years before we bought the finca in 2010 and continued the extension. Today, the finca is an area of almost 4000 square metres with about 400 square metres of buildings. Due to the differences in altitude, we created many different terraces to straighten the property and make it usable. In addition to an elaborate planting, we have built a badminton court, a sauna area, a covered barbecue area,…..

Approx.14 years later – everything a little greener! That’s how we took over the finca in 2010.

After taking over the finca, we were unfortunately busy with renovation work for a good year before we could start our own project.  In 2012, the time had come and we started our first building project, the conversion of the lower terrace of the property. Since there is unfortunately no concrete truck coming up here, everything has to be done by hand, which very often pushed me personally to the physical limit in the beginning. After a few months I got used to it and at some point it was even fun.

After about half a year we are done….Time for the hammock!

Now came our Herculean task, the conversion of this huge, ugly hole, and we thought long and hard,

what we make of it.

The solution was then a badminton court where we have already played a few matches.

And now to the last major project for the time being, the conversion of a complete hillside into a walk-in

Garden object.

Due to the massive Teide in the centre of the island with an altitude of over 3700m, clouds remain at higher altitudes and form the trade fog, which…
